Matt Ryg
Matt Ryg joined the Board of Vega Productions, Inc. in November of 2008. He is the Shelter and Housing Policy Specialist for the Metro-wide Engagement on Shelter and Housing (MESH). He is responsible for providing technical assistance to the 7 metropolitan county Continuums of Care and Family Homeless Prevention and Assistance Programs. He also serves as chair of the Homeless Medical Issues and Respite Advisory committee for Heading Home Hennepin, and directs the MESH Homelessness 101 & 201 training programs. Prior to his work with Vega Productions, Inc., Ryg volunteered on the Board of Directors of Southside Family Charter School for five years, serving in numerous leadership roles ranging from Board Vice-Chair, chair of the Nominations and Governance, and the Planning and Initiatives committees. Matt received his B.A. in Philosophy from Hamline University, his Masters in Advocacy and Political Leadership from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and is currently in pursuit of his PHD in Philosophy from SIU Carbondale. He has experience in operational capacity building, program development, grant writing and fundraising, strategic planning, community organizing, and events planning.
